Discover, collect, and share beautiful spots around you. An app for people who notice the world.
SpekPlatz is an app for discovering and sharing beautiful spots — the kind you find on a walk and wish you could remember or share. It's for people who pay attention to the world around them and want to capture those moments.
Whether it's a quiet bench with a view, a hidden garden, a perfect coffee spot, or a street corner that catches the light just right — SpekPlatz is your personal map of the places that matter to you.
Walkers, travelers, locals who want to explore their city differently, anyone who loves discovering new spots and sharing them with friends.
I wanted something between a note app and Google Maps — a personal, curated collection of places I love, with the ability to share them. Nothing I found felt right. So I described what I wanted to Claude Code and built it.
This was a more ambitious project — a full web app with a map, location data, user interactions, and a TypeScript codebase. I described the features one by one, and Claude Code built them through conversation. Each iteration made it more refined.
The name SpekPlatz came naturally — a playful mix of languages that felt right for an app about discovering places across different cultures and cities.
"A simple idea — 'I want to save nice places' — became a real, usable app through conversation."
